In a spirit of innovation, Ofac has decided to offer its members a new secure digital health platform, designed and developed jointly by ELCA and Ofac teams.
Based on the simple idea of relieving pharmacists of their administrative tasks, Ofac has become the professional cooperative for Swiss pharmacists. Since its foundation in Geneva in 1963, Ofac has constantly innovated and anticipated the considerable changes in the profession of pharmacist.
Patients registered on the Abilis platform can not only purchase items online, renew their prescription orders, access their vaccination plan, manage their invoices, but also open an electronic patient record (EPR).
Thanks to Abilis, pharmacist-patient interactions are gradually going digital, bringing ever greater added value to patients on a daily basis. (home delivery, prescription renewal notification, etc.).
A multi-store e-commerce solution
As part of the implementation of the Abilis healthcare platform, Ofac called on the expertise of ELCA Digital Agency for the design & implementation of a multi-store eCommerce solution offering pharmacy and parapharmacy products.
Each pharmacy has its own online product catalog and handles order delivery. Ofac is responsible for all digital marketing activities, as well as cross-functional operations (product catalog management, monitoring, support, maintenance of each pharmacy's web pages).
A mobile e-health application
Patients can download a free mobile app that will enable them to open a personal account to access their medical data and interact with their pharmacy. "Patients suffering from chronic illnesses can easily place new orders for their renewable medicines and, if necessary, have them delivered. From their smartphone, customers can consult their medication, their medical bills, and track the progress of their health.
A major technological project
With over 600 pharmacies able to activate their e-commerce site via Abilis, tens of millions of price references can be managed via the platform. For the general public, the web and mobile solution must offer the same fluidity as that experienced face-to-face with the pharmacist.
The complexity of the project was mastered thanks to close collaboration between ELCA and Ofac teams and its network of pharmacists.
Up to a hundred experts from the ELCA Group and TrustID collaborated with specialists from the Ofac Group (from pharmacists to infrastructure specialists) to create the platform.
This project mobilized the know-how of ELCA teams in architecture, business analysis, UX, visual design, digital marketing and e-Commerce.
Secure access to medical data is ensured by the use of the TrustID secure key by pharmacists and patients.
